Makeup Review: Model Co Fiber Lash

This is the first product that I bought from this brand and I am very happy!
I have been trying different mascaras and I have never really been wowed
by them.  Until now.

This mascara comes with 2 tubes, 1 is the mascara and the other tube is the fiber lash.  You apply the mascara first, then a coat of the fiber, then another coat of the mascara.  You can actually see your lashes get longer and fuller.  You will have the appearance of having false lashes.  Isn't that amazing??!!!

This is available at Beauty Bar for around Php1,850.00 or Php1,900.00

Makeup Review: Makeup Forever Lip Concealer

This concealer comes in a pencil form that is double ended. 1 shade is lighter than the other one.  You can use this on your lips after applying a dark lipstick to clean up the edges, to make it look sharper and more defined.  But you can also use this under your eyebrows to have a more polished look; a neater looking brows.  Another use is for your eyes.  It can be used as an eyeliner, an alternative to using a white pencil liner to brighten up the eyes.

A very versatile product that is a must have.

Makeup Review: Makeup Forever Sculpting Kit

This face powder is mainly used for contouring and highlighting the face like the cheekbones, jawlines, a bit on the forehead and temples and the nose bridge.  You can also use this powder duo as an eye shadow.

They come in 4 different shades; shade 1 is for caucasians; 2 is for asians or for people with yellow undertones; 3 for hispanic or people with olive complexions; and 4 is for women with darker complexions.

Powders are pigmented and the highlighting powder has a very light shimmer.  Definitely a must have especially if you're a makeup artist.

Available at MAKEUP FOREVER stores.

Makeup Review: Sonia Kashuk Dual Eyeshadow

Eyeshadows are not my forte but i had to give this one a try. This pair is called Heavenly Heather. It's more on the plum shade with a hint of shimmer. The lighter one is on the lilac side and the other is darker and with more shimmer. I love it because it doesn't look scary when blending. During the day, it gives a subtle color on the eyes which can be forgiving when you're not an expert around the eye area (like moi).

Sonia Kashuk's Makeup is available in Target.

Makeup review: Nyx Blush

Finally bought a Nyx blush from our collection. Decided on the "Natural" to be safe. Found it to be very bright for a "natural" blush. It has a pinkish hue bordering peach. Great for everyday, combined with a bronzer. I just didnt like how loose it is that you actually waste so much powder. Definitely not like the Laura Mercier Blushes. Price is very affordable.

We offer other shades like Sand (golden), silky rose, mauve, and raisin.

MakeUp Review: Nyx Jumbo Eye pencil

I was never an eye girl when it comes to make up simply because I didn't know how to put them on and thinking of what shades are perfect to combine. For short, am just too lazy. But then I decided to buy this eye pencil (we're actually selling it) in Cottage Cheese. It's really made for lazy people. It's like an eyeshadow/brightener in one. Very easy to apply and you can see the effect instantly. I really love it! Check our web store for available shades.

Makeup Review: Makeup Forever All Mat Primer

This primer is not exactly the primer we are familiar with because it does not help prolong your makeup.  What it does is mattify and makes your face smooth for easily application of the foundation.  For people with oily skin, this is the first step in doing your makeup.  But for those with dry or mature skin, you can skip this step.

PACKAGING: The primer comes in a glass bottle with a pump.  Not exactly convenient to bring around but it does the job.

CONSISTENCY: This reminds me of Smashbox Photofinish Primer.  Feels like silicone

EFFECTIVENESS: This primer only mattifies the face and even though it is called a primer, it does not help in making your makeup last. Keeps your makeup looking matte for a couple of hours.  I had to blot after 2 hours.

PRICE: It is expensive and I'm pretty sure you can find a mattifying base that is not as expensive.

Makeup Review: Bare Escentuals Lip Gloss

PACKAGING: Has a black lid with a clear container.  Comes with a short brush applicator

CONSISTENCY: Just like other glosses, this too is on the thick and creamy side

SCENT: Has a slight caramel scent.  The shade I have is Nude.

COLORS: The shades available run on the neutral and natural lips but better.  The nude shade that I have came in a set (1 lipstick and 1 gloss)

OVERALL:  For those of you who love a nice gloss Bare Escentuals is actually a good one to have.

Available at GorgeousMe

Makeup Tool Review: Chanel Contour Shadow Brush #12

This brush reminds me of a MAC 226, just slightly fluffier.  The bristles are very soft and its length is the same as the MAC 224 but shorter than Sigma 224 (for reference).  Since it is a bit fluffy, it can also help blend out the crease color.  It is tapered so it is easy to reach the inner and outer corners of the eyes without a hitch.  But using it as solely for blending might prove to be a bit difficult.  This brush comes with a black velvet pouch and a cylindrical plastic brush guard which can't be reused after it has been removed.

New Buys for 2011

I recently came back from Hongkong and here are some things I bought that I wanted to share with you.

1. Cle De peau in #116-plumish color. A bit sheer and glossy. Fantastic during daytime.
2. Muji loose powder in Natural-a shocker if you ask me. Powder was matte and didn't look dry on my skin
3. Jo Malone (Vetyver cologne)-smells like those cologne we used to buy when we were in Highschool like Para Mi Bebe. Hahaha. Just shows you how old I'am. Boohoo.

Makeup Review: Makeup Products Combo 1

Since I have quite a few makeup products that work, I decided to do an experiment in which I combined some items to find out if they will work well together.  This is what I will term 'product combos' and how it all came together at the end of the day.

Primer: Murad Mattifying Oil control Lotion with SPF 10

Foundation: Dior Nude shade 30

Loose Powder: a light dusting of the Laura Mercier Loose Powder

Cheeks: MAC Tenderling Blush

Setting Spray: Urban Decay All Nighter

My eyeshadow stayed on all night with no creasing at all and this was probably due to the primer.  But I can't same the same for my blush; at the end of the party I had no blush at all!! Did I put too little? Because I didn't even sweat nor was I particularly oilier than usual.  Actually I didn't even have to blot.
